Whistles Spring 2014: Jumpers, Bracelets & Bags OH MY!

So, it’s a Tuesday night and I’m having my usual online sweep of my favourite brands and I realise Whistles is getting extra special attention tonight because I already have 25 tabs open in my browser. And so, inspired this Spring Edit post but with a theme: Jumpers, Bracelets and Bags!

Shouty slogan tops are a trend that has never really taken me in. It seems far too obvious a fashion statement. However, if I am going to so blatantly label myself then it would have to be with either of these two Whistles jumpers. The grey, retro looking “W” Applique Letterman Sweater (£75) and the navy “Fleur” Logo Jumper (£75) have nothing shouty about them, in fact the Fleur jumper is kind of sweet. Pair with ripped, boyfriend jeans and slip – on sandals for a casual weekend look. Whistles have managed to change my mind on this trend so I will be investing, I just can’t decide which one…

Also worth a mention is this Carla V Neck Cropped Cashmere sweater (£325) in an irresistibly creamy, pink-bubblegum sweater.  Chunky cashmere is the ultimate luxury! Team with high waisted jeans or your tailored work wear trousers and platform menswear shoes. I am also loving this Quilted Cable Sweatshirt (£75) in a soft navy. A nod to the 80’s Versace chain trend Rihanna wears (a little too much) but in an oh-so-subtle and wearably chic fashion. Ah Whistles.

Also, having a little fashion moment are Whistles’ bags. The designs are going from strength to strength so these days I make a bee line for their accessories corner because I almost always want everything they make. I am already a massive fan of the Rivington clutch bags (chic, affordable, handy, buttery soft leather) and every season I pray they discontinue them because I always want every single colour! This spring they have a gorgeous bright aqua, teal hue with a gold chain. One look and I’m dreaming of summer holidays, al fresco dining and endless glasses of chilled Sancerre. Take me away little Rivington.

Whistles have always nailed the clutch trend but as of late my attention is being drawn towards their more pricey offerings in the shape of this gorgeous navy handbag, the Jenny Zip Top Tote (£250). A sort-of bowling bag shape, it’s my perfect day time bag; chic, multi-strap carrying options and a zipper so you aren’t constantly checking your bags contents are safe on your busy commute home.

AND finally, this beauty; Verity Large White Rucksack (£275). 100% white Italian leather with rose gold zip hardware featuring a foldover zip top and zip front pouch, I think I just died. The Verity backpack is not going to be your Glasto backpack guys, Verity was made for the finer events in life.

Whistles are stocking a select few pieces from jewellery designer MOXHAM, founded in 2011 by Madeleine Moxham, she delivers simple statement pieces in gold plated brass, chunky shapes to create simple, statement pieces. I love the bracelets and can see them working well as stand alone wrist candy or an interesting stackable piece. I adore the Moxham Otto Bracelet (£55) and the  Moxham Xeno Bracelet (£55) little bit Aztec Mayan a little but industrial, they speak to my modernist muse and my bohemian babe at the sometime. I say it’s time to INVEST!
